This session will explore the use of running records as an assessment tool for reading – decoding and comprehension. Participants will learn how to take a running record and how to use the information gained for assessment and teaching purposes.

Participants will then trial completing a running record in their own setting and return to session 2 to consider next steps/any issues arising/questions and answers

Participants must attend both sessions

Gill has over 30 years experience as a primary teacher and headteacher. She has worked for the Local Authority and nationally in a range of primary assessment and training developments during this time
