Session 1 – The Place Value of Punctuation and Grammar

 

I’m sure you’ve all been in this situation: so, you’re expected to get Pupil A to meet a much higher standard than ever before – they need to use a range of subordinating and co-ordinating conjunctions, commas for fronted adverbials or maybe even a semi-colon or two. The problem is this - Pupil A still needs to be reminded daily about including basic things like full stops and their comma usage just seems too inconsistent. So, what can you do? Stress out and try and give them as much ‘reminding’ as possible? No! Begin September with the Place Value of Punctuation/Grammar and build a sturdy foundation for your pupils to excel from.  For best results, embed this across the entire school and watch as strong foundations turn into unbelievable progress.
