This session will look at the developmental stages of reading and writing in the early years. We will discuss how to provide a stimulating, literate environment that reflects the interests and learning styles of all children; how to plan for children to develop the skills they need to become capable, confident readers and writers; and how to use quality observation, assessment and planning to meet the needs of all the children.
