At the end of this course, staff will be able to:
Gain knowledge of what Adverse Childhood Experiences are and the part they in children’s outcomes and life chances
Understand the basics of trauma theory and how it affects children’s brain development and impact on learning
Understand the basics of attachment theory and how negative attachments can affect learning in the classroom
Be aware of the ‘RETHINK’ approach to supporting children who have experienced trauma
Be aware of the mental health difficulties that pupils may face and what we can do to support those pupils
Apply theoretical concepts to their own professional practice
