The SEL Series 

 

This series of 3 sessions can be done as stand-alone sessions or as 3 linked sessions. As a series they will provide school leaders with time to reflect on recent and relevant research, consider their own school context and focus on how Social, Emotional Learning (SEL) underpins the development of effective learners. The first is online and the next two sessions are a physical session.

Getting pupil learning behaviours right

This session will aim to:

• Outline what is meant by the term learning behaviours and their significance on pupil learning.
• Examine current research-based evidence on the impact learning behaviours have within the classroom, including the EEF tool kit.
• Unpick strategies for promoting and developing effective pupil learning behaviours, including approaches to monitoring this within school.
• Consider the importance of developing and embedding metacognition across a whole school setting.
