To enable the participants to:

  1. i) Focus on how to assess children’s phonics in Phase 2 and 3
  2. ii) Focus on blending to read and segmenting to spell CVC words made from these graphemes read 12 new tricky words and write letters correctly when given an example to copy.

iii) Focus on blending Phase 4 adjacent consonant blends confidently to work out new words. They should be starting to be able to read words straight off, rather than having to sound them out.

  1. iv) Focus on writing every letter, mostly correctly.
